Dr. M. Kruip
Dr. Marieke Kruip qualified as a medical doctor at the University of Maastricht in 1996. She received her training in Internal Medicine at the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Tilburg and her training in Hematology at the Erasmus University Medical Center in Rotterdam. She obtained her board license in 2004 and subspeciality Hematology in 2006. Since 2006 she works at the department of Hematology of the Erasmus University Medical Center, Rotterdam and since 2013 she is medical advisor of the Thrombosis Service Star-MDC in Rotterdam.
Dr. Kruip takes care of patient with all kind of hematologic diseases, with special interest in patients with thrombotic or bleeding disorders. Her expertise is diagnosing venous thrombosis, prophylaxis and treatment with oral anticoagulants, especially vitamin K antagonists.
Dr. Kruip did her PhD on the improvements of the diagnostic strategy of pulmonary embolism and defended her thesis in 2006. Her present research focuses on control and optimization of treatment with oral anticoagulants and on the improvement of care and cost-effectiveness of antithrombotic stewardship.
